Updated...

Ok so I know I haven't updated in quite a while. But I wanted to finish the kitchen before I posted any "after" pictures and it still isn't all the way done. It is mostly done and the things left are just little things and only slightly noticable to anyone but Brad and I. It looks really good and we are so glad to get rid of the old stuff. And now I can hardly wait to decorate! My favorite part!!!! I just can't decide on what exactly I want. And it really needs cleaned, so you'll just have to take my word on it that it is good lookin until I find the energy to get down on my hands and knees to scrub the floor! Which the way my belly is expanding it may be a while.

Things around here are going pretty good. Emma and Maycee are both loving school and playing and can't wait for the day they can go to a park again! Their pregnant mother refuses to take them and sit in the snow while they play at the park. So they are patiently waiting for a warm-ish day to go. Emma is quite our little reader these days and it is so great to watch her learn about all these awesome things, she gets all proud when she reads her books, it's so great to see her achieve her goals. And Maycee is still our wonderful Maycee. She loves preschool and while I think it has been really good for her, she still has a lot to work on in the behavior department. However everyone tells me that she is a doll when she is with them, which I hope is really the case and that they aren't just telling me that to make me feel better. But we love her all the same and life would certainly be boring without her around. I am also in school, however I can't use the same adjectives to describe my feelings towards it. I am taking my last math general eduaion class and then I am done until I can start the nursing courses. Math was never my forte and I still to this day can remember the LONG nights at the kitchen table with my dad, going over and over the assignments and it would take hours! But if I can make it through this class then I should be pretty much done with math for quite some time. I should find out in a couple of months if I am going to be able to start nursing school in the fall.

Brad is still going to Park City everyday and likes it in that he gets away from the "city air" for 8 hours everyday. It is really nasty air we have down here and I am not sure after having been above it all day and looking down on it that I would be real willing to come back down in the middle of it. He will be in Park City for another 5 months or so probably and then it will be on to a new job site, maybe a little closer to home, I have heard rumors of the U. That would be lovely on the car.

Our other little project is going really good. He/She is growing and I can feel him/her all the time now. We find out on Monday whether we get to even the score in our family a little or if we get to continue the much overdosed estrogen producing clan we already have. So we will let ya'll know. I haven't really started to retain water yet and I haven't gained as much weight yet either, it's been pretty nice. Other than this baby is sitting right up in my ribs and thinks that they are keys to a piano or something because he/she insists on kicking them all hours of the day or night. I didn't have the problem with Emma or Maycee until they were much bigger and had no choice because they had no room to move about. They joys of motherhood I tell ya!

I am still working at the hospital and really like it. It's a good hospital and good people that work there. I really like going to work and am glad that I was able to find something that I like to do.

Project #1

When we bought our house we loved the layout and it was the right price and in a great location, so we said yes we want to buy it. However the decorating leaves something to be desired so we have started the re-decorating of the inside of the house. And project numero one is the kitchen. It had this really lovely red and green wallpaper(and I must say that the idiot who invented the stuff should be shot!)and it gave the house a real Christmas feel all year long! So it came off and we are preparing the walls for paint and new trim and we(or should I say it's Brad)are fixing up the cabinets a little. I am really excited. The girls said that they live in an ugly house now and that we must move right away! I tried to explain that it wasn't staying that way and that it was just temporary. Anyway--last night after the girls went to bed Brad and I turned on some good ol' Timmy and tore wallpaper off the walls and scrapped and scrapped and scrapped some more(did I mention that the inventor should be shot?!)It was so fun, really! So here are some pics of our progress so far. And they are all of Brad working, but I did help...I swear!

I could get used to this...

So since Christmas it has been super quiet at our house. I am feeling really good, and am growing HUGE. Brad says that I should take pics of my ever-expanding belly because we never have before, and my reply was that I don't think anyone wants to see pictures of human whales. So we shall see who wins this one...But I am feeling pretty good and am so greatful for that. This time around has been kind of different than with the girls, so I am kind of thinking that we may have a boy this time around...We should find out the end of January or the first part of February.

It has been so nice not to have school and just be lazy. I decided that I am one of those mom's that likes the breaks from school. I am so not a morning person and it is rough to get out the door every morning for school. But we make it, most of the time.

To ring in the New Year this year, we were pretty low key. I helped the girls make New Years Masks and noise makers (that they would never use, but it was fun anyway) and we went to my parents house for dinner and had filet mignon and sauteed mushrooms and root beer floats, among all the chips and dip and snack foods that you could ever imagine. It was fun and I always love it when we are able to spend time with family. Then we came home and watched some movies, the girls went to bed and Brad and I just vegged. It was pretty low-key.

Now it is back to school and work and all that good stuff. I start the next semester on Monday and Emma and Maycee went back this last Monday. I am only taking a math class this semester so it shouldn't be too bad(and it's online)and then I just have to wait to get started in a nursing program. Then about 12-15 classes and I will be done! Things are good.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Our Christmas was great this year! The girls were thoroughly spoiled and it is so great to be able to be so blessed in this time of year when there are so many who are not. We started out with our annual Christmas Eve at Spencers. We had all the works with the nativity story played by Emma and Maycee.




Then everyone opened gifts from Grandpa and Grandma. It was wonderful and Grandpa and Grandma spoil us all. Thanks again for everything.


The girls got new pjs in the christmas countdown on Christmas Eve and they were quite the models for me in front of the tree


On Christmas morning Santa had definitly stopped at our house and I had let the girls sleep until they woke up and at about 8:00 there was a knock on the bathroom door and Maycee asked if she could open her presents. We called the grandparents and they all came to watch the girls open their gifts.



The girls got barbie everything and cute new clothes and craft things. They are all girl and you could tell by about 9:00 Christmas morning.


All in all it was a wonderful holiday! And now comes the taking everything down and cleaning everything up...my favorite part ;)!!!

So Em and Maycee LOVE to play in the snow and they are always begging to help shovel the snow, so my parents found these little shovels for them and they have loved playing with them. The next time it snowed the first thing Emma asked is if she could go out and shovel it...like I was going to say no...

So This is Christmas...

It hasn't really felt a whole lot like Christmas this year to me, and I think it is because I have had my head stuck in the toilet for the majority of the season this year. I finally finished the semester and to my amazment I did pretty good considering I tried to do about 5 million other things during the semster. But it is over and I am that much closer to finishing. I now have finished all my general education requirements and so I have about 15 nursing courses, of which I can't take until I start the program so I am taking one last math class in January and then maybe next fall I will be able to start the nursing program somewhere...It could prove interesting seeing as how I will have a 2 month old baby but it can be done and I am not the first to attempt it I am sure.
In trying to feel "Christmasy" we took the girls to look at the lights on Temple Sqaure. They thought they were cool and the highlight was the nativity scene that is in between the tabernacle and visitors center. Temple Square lights just aren't like they used to be(at least from my memory).


I finished most of the last of my christmas shopping last Saturday, with being so sick and school and work I haven't been able to get any of it done before, but with the exception of a few things it is done now. We also had the Hyde family party Saturday night in Heber and it was fun. The special guest of every year is Santa Claus and last year Maycee didn't want anything to do with him, she wouldn't even let me get within 10 feet of him without screaming so we waved to him from a distance and Brad had to go get her gift. This year she was VERY excited. She marched right up there and before Santa could even say hi she stood right in front of him and rattled of her list of what she wanted. It was the cutest thing and everyone started to laugh. And if you know Maycee she has this thing about noticing what she does and she gets REALLY angry when you snicker at something she says or does that is from the mouth of a three year old, so needless to say she turned around to everyone and told them all to STOP LAUGHING! and then politly turned to Santa and sat on his lap and got her present. I wish I would have had a video recorder, it was one of those things that was just so funny and totally worth having on tape. She happened to be the first one he called and when she got home she was telling Emma that it was so cool and that she couldn't believe Santa called her first! Her little imagination is so innocent and I love it! I love to see her so excited about this, it is all so real and it is great to have that kind of spirit in our home. I forgot to take the camera, it was once again one of those days, so there aren't any pictures of the girls with Santa this year(and he was a really good one too dang it!)
