I need a vacation to recoup from my vacation...

So since we got back from vacation, I have had the hardest time getting back into the swing of things. And I have had so much that I am trying to do that it just got all too overwhelming. First, Brad and I found this house here in Bountiful that needs a lot(did I mention A LOT, it's pretty much a dump)of work. And we decided that on top of everything else that we would love to remodel it if we could get it for the right price. So we have been working with my dad and uncle in trying to put an offer in on this house. I think we are finally ready and when dad and Lorenzo get back from their weekend work we will put the offer in, hopefully on Monday. It is kind of a long shot but it would be totally awesome if it all worked out. So stay tuned...
Then Brad and I have decided that if we want any more kids that it really should happen sooner than later, and I would really like some more boys(Brad would never admit it, but he really wants some boys too). So last September I got rid of the birth control but my body is just not made for having children and can't decide what it wants to do so to make a long story short and not go into so much detail, my ob-gyn gave me clomid to take. It is an infertility drug that helps with cycle issues too. But the side effects are TERRIBLE, especially since I am not seeing benefits that I think I should. But with Maycee's issues I can't take it anymore. It makes me VERY irritable and that is just not a good combination with my Mayc, she requires A LOT of patience. So we have kidded that I should take the pill again since I had so much luck with it the last two times I took it. Which in all seriousness I might try it to see if it will straighten me out. I don't know...so other than that things around here are what they always are. Brad now has two guys that ride with him to Park City for work and they pay him for gas, which saves everyone money really. They both have great big trucks so what they pay Brad is significantly less than what they would spend to drive their trucks up there everyday and then it buys quite a bit of Brads gas too, so it is kind of nice, especially with gas the way it is.
I have to tell you though, last night I had to work in the ICU because the psych unit was low census so they sent me to the ICU and while I was working on a patient that was ventilated she started to come to. She turned her head toward me and mouthed the words "Thank you" to me. It was all I had to not just sit down and cry right there. It made me think with all the stress of my world, it doesn't even compare to what some of these people are going through. They are literally fighting for their lives and they still have the ability to say thank you to some complete stranger who was taking their vital signs. That's why I endure the kind of work that I get most days at work. Because there are times like this that make up for all the yucky stuff that is involved in nursing. We take for granted so much in this world, and I get to be reminded everytime I walk into the hospital that I have so much to be thankful for. What a great lesson I got last night.

Mandy, that is so awesome that you guys want more kids!!! Good luck, but I think the trick with you is to say that you don't want them. Ha ha! Anyway, we will keep you guys in our prayers. Our little one needs lots more friends!
That is awesome that you had that experience at work, thank you for sharing. It is amazing what a difference you can make in someones life just by showing up, especially in your line of work. Sometimes I wish I had the stomach to be a nurse. Keep at it! Love ya!
