The greatest Day ever(this time I really mean it, no sarcasm here!)

WAHOO!!! I am officially done with this semester!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have waited for this moment for a very, very, very long time. For some reason this semester seems like it dragged(I know I haven't mentioned that before (wink, wink)! But I am done and I am pretty sure I did really well, that will help the GPA! The past week has been crazy (I know I say that every time but it really has) I am looking forward to just one day that I don't have anything on my schedule.(That would be tomorrow, except Emma has preschool, but that is ok) So back to this past week... It started out just like that last one ended, we were all holding our breath to see how long Brad's sis was going to have to wait for her doctor to decide to take her baby. And we didn't have to wait that long. She had the baby by c-section on Tuesday the 22nd. He is a beautiful baby boy, and we are all so excited to welcome him to our family. So I spent Wednesday and Thursday tending Brad's niece Hadlee. She is a funny little girl, however she isn't so little. She is five months younger than Maycee and she makes Mayc look like a midget. She is physically a BIG girl but she is darling and Emma & Maycee loved having her sleep over at our house and have her around to play with. Jon and Jessica live in Pocatello so we don't see them as much as we would like. Hadlee and Maycee came to preschool with Emma and I as I had to be the mom helper for Miss Cynthia on Wednesday. Maycee was so excited because everyday we drop Emma off she asks if she can go in to see Miss Cynthia, so this day she got to go to preschool. She is going to love it next fall when she gets to go. Then the girls got to spend the rest of the day Wednesday and Thursday playing. Brad's mom came and got Hadlee Thursday afternoon and took her to Heber to spend the rest of the week there. Then we all traveled to Pocatello on Saturday to see the baby and visit.

It was love at first sight for Emma, she loves, loves babies. She just sat and held him and stared at him, it was so funny. Maycee held him too and while she liked it she wasn't totally enthralled with him. We spent just a few hours there and then it was back to Bountiful because I was scheduled to work at the hospital at 7 Saturday night so we had to come back fast. The girls did really well but they were ready to be out of the car by the time we got to Bountiful. And they had a fun time seeing where Hadlee lived(They have asked for a while now when they get to go to Hadlee's house).

I have officially quit the care center and am now an employee only of Lakeview Hospital. The hospital is scheduling me for way more hours than I need so I figured that if I wanted to stay married and keep my children, I needed to clean the house and take care of them so I quit the care center. It was a good place to work and it gave me good experience but I really like the hospital setting a lot better!(Who wouldn't, 8 patients per 2 CNAs vs. 12-14 patients per CNA, that's a no-brainer!) So anyway, I now just work Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7-11 pm and a couple of 12 hour shifts 7am-7pm on the weekends a month. It's really nice and I like it so I'll stick with it for a while.

Sunday my mom had dinner for my Grandma Sowells birthday and so we all joined them for dinner. It was yummy and great since I didn't have to cook it. We went to church earlier and the girls loved going to primary. Emma is getting so good at singing all the songs they are learning this year. She loves to sing and she sings them to me at bedtime, it's so great to see her little spirit growing, she is such a beautiful little girl! And Maycee loves nursery, and her favorite song is the wise man and we have to sing that every night when she goes to bed. She is a funny little girl and has her little routine and don't you dare try to deiviate from it...or else...

I took her back to the doctor for her ears today and she still failed the hearing test and the doc said she still had "murky ear drums" so he referred me to an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor and her appointment is on Friday morning so we will see what the prognosis is.

I forgot the camera when we went to Pocatello but Jessica took pics and she is going to send them to me so when I get them I will post them. That's all for now, till next time...

C R A Z Y

Ok so I feel like I haven't stopped for months. My body is so tired and my mind is going about a million miles a minute. It is the end of the semester and it is always cram time. It doesn't matter how good you have been throughout the semester when the end comes around, you always have finals and projects, ect and they all fall on the same due date! So I am trying to get all that done and then, last week I get this pic message from Jessica, my sister in law and her feet were so swollen with retained fluids that it had me really worried. She was due in another 3 weeks but it still was a little scary. So I played long distance nurse with her all weekend and then between work and home and everything it was a little crazy. The good news is that Jess's doctor decided to take the baby yesterday and he was born very healthy. We are all so excited. So Brad's parents went up there last night and picked up Hadlee and she is spending today and tomorrow with us. It is so fun for the girls to have their only cousin here to play with. Now they have two cousins and are so excited to see the new baby in real life(I had Jon send us pic messages but it's not the same!) So I also gave my notice to the care center so I am now only working at the hospital. I really like it there, however I don't think I will stay on this unit for a very long time, I would really like to get into Women's Services, but this hospital doesn't have very many opportunities on that unit so I will work for a while and if nothing comes up I might look into another hospital. They are working me a lot it seems and I guess that's ok, for now anyway, I just couldn't do both places and take care of my family at the same time, too much! Anyway, things continue to go on...at least we aren't bored...

Finally we went fishing!

So Maycee made it the whole night, however Grandma Hyde said that she didn't go to sleep until about 11:30 and then woke up at 7 this morning! She'll sleep well tonight! Grandpa Hyde took them fishing at a pond in Heber. They had so much fun, at least Emma did. Maycee didn't want to have anything to do with the fish once she saw them flopping around on the fishing line.
Emma actually caught two fish and she said that Uncle Nate caught the other one. Emma wants to eat them and I have no idea how to cook trout, so this might be interesting...

We are so ready for Summer

It has been trying to warm up in Utah for the past couple of weeks and we have tried to take full advantage. The girls go around wearing their flip flops and skirts with no tights(they have always had to wear skirts, because according to them, they can't be beautiful in pants!) So we have helped Grandpa Spencer put up the BIG play set that they bought for Emma and Maycee(and someday all their grandchildren, but for now Em and Maycee get full reign). And we have played outside and at the park and have taken bike rides.

And Brad and I bought a new DSLR and he finds it completely amusing to catch me at the most inopportune time for a photo, but I was having a pretty good hair day this day so I let it slide!

The girls are being entertained at G&G Hyde's for the night so Brad and I will have the whole night to ourselves(It might be really boring actually!) And Grandma Hyde gets to get up with Maycee the entire night to go to the bathroom( I forewarned her so it is not my fault, she still wanted them to come spend the night). I may be making a trip to Heber City at 1 AM this evening but we will see...I used to do it all the time, except I was going the other way, shouldn't be a problem(He, He, He).

Just another week...

So what happened last week?? I think it was basically more of the same. Bit I have exactely 2 weeks from today and the semester is over!!! I am so excited. Spring semester is so long because they have the week of Spring break and then I think it's a longer than fall anyway so add two extra weeks, and it seems like an eternity! But I think I have done really well this semester and I might even end up with a 4.0 this semester (my first ever in my whole life! Yes the classes are just general ed but hey, I'll take it when I can!) Last Wednesday was Brad's birthday and he turned 27! He went to work that day and didn't even want to go out to dinner when I got home from class, so we just spent the night at home. What a party pooper. I worked at Lakeview on Tuesday night but on Thursday they just put me on call because the census(how many patients are on the unit) was low so unless we got some admits I didn't have to go in, so I watched ER and then went to bed. Working Thursdays is going to be a little rough because that is Grey's night and ER, but there is a TV at work so I guess I can catch pieces of it here and there and then watch it on the internet Friday. Saturday I worked 12 hours between the care center from 6 to 3 and then at Lakeview from 7 to 11, and then I worked from 6 to 3 at the care center Sunday morning, so I just worked a lot this weekend, but that's ok, if I had been at home I would have just sat around so at least I was doing something productive. And Brad needs the daddy/daughter bonding time with the girls. He is really good with them and even if he has no patience they are really good for him so he doesn't lose his patience very often. Sunday night we had my parents and Jaclyn and Trevor and Jodee and my grandparents and Brad's parents and little bro all over for dinner for Brad's birthday. It is so great to have all the fam together and chat. I am so glad that our families are comfortable enough to do that, combining two families is hard and it is great that all of us can get together and chat and have a good time. Everyone said that they were planning on coming to dinner again in two weeks because with all the birthdays that is how it has been for the last little while. We would love to have everyone over, it isn't very often that we have visitors and we love it when we do, so you are all welcome anytime, just don't expect anything special the next time, you might end up with Mac-n-cheese! We don't eat that well all the time!
Emma and Maycee are so excited for the warmer weather! They both have asked me everyday if we can go swimming in our blowup pool yet! It is suppose to be 80 degrees today! And then it is going to bottom out again tomorrow! What a bummer dude, get us all exctied and then take it all away! That is killer for a 3 and 5 year old! Testing my mothering skills yet again...
Well that's about it for now...till next time!

Such a better weekend!

Ok, so this weenend was so much better than last! No one was really sick and we were able to have a very relaxing weekend. We didn't do one thing, all weekend, it was actually really nice. Saturday night I had to work for 4 hours at the hospital but that is all that happened this weekend. It was conference and it was great to hear from our new prophet, he is such an amazing man.
Updated from last week...Emma ended up not having strep and it looks like she just had the flu, but then she got two ear infections and I think she has had a little bit of temporary(at least I hope its only temp) hearing loss from them. She is having a hard time hearing anything that isn't right close to her. I'll wait and see what happens when her antibiotics are over at the end of the week, if the hearing doesn't improve then I guess we are back to the doctor, and I was just getting that bill down to a manageable amount!
It is Brad's birthday this week and he will be 27! He is such a great guy and I love him to death, Happy Birthday Brad!!
That's all for now...till next time.

She's a beautiful young lady

I got Emma's pic back and she is so photogenic! Where she got it from I have no idea because I am certainly not and I am married to a man that seems to think that smiling for pictures is unmanly or something because it is pretty rare to get him in front of a camera smiling. She is such a ham and will do just about anything to get in front of the camera. She looks a lot older than 5 in this picture, it's a little scary actually.

This afternoon we went to the Kindergarten Orientation at Meadowbrook Elementary and she is SOOOOOOOO excited. She came home and told me that she hopes to be in room #2 because it is much funner in there than in room #1. She hasn't stopped talking about it all afternoon. It makes me quite sad, but I am glad that she is so excited and that she loves to learn, there isn't anything better in this world than to discover new things. One of the Kindergarten teachers (both seem to be excellent) told her that she was glad that Emma was so tall because then she could be a leader in the class and everyone could look up to her as the example, Emma thought she was quite special! That first day of class is going to be quite emotional for Mom, I was choking back the tears as we walked down the hall thinking that my baby was going to be doing this by herself very soon. I can't believe that she is old enough...
