Our Fabulous Weekend!-03.31.08

So this weekend was so extremely fabulous you are all going to just die! I had to work at Lakeview on Friday night, which I am loving and I hope that they are going to be able to guarantee me some hours so that I can quit the care center, but I am just PRN right now so the hours aren't guaranteed. But anyway back to the happenings of the weekend. So at about 3 AM I heard Brad get up and I waited and waited for him to come back to bed but when he never did I went to find out what the deal was and he was sitting on the couch just about passed out in pain. He had this tooth that broke about a month ago and he went to the dentist but his dentist said that the roots on this tooth were so wierd that he had to see a specialist to get the work done on it so then we took our sweet little time deciding that the insurance wasn't going to cover enough of that kind of work and that he was just going to get it pulled but his appointment to get it pulled wasn't until next Thursday. So I get the phone book and start looking for an emergency dentist. I found only one that gave an after hours number and so I called it and I am sure he was so excited to hear from me at 5:00 AM but he agreed to see him in a few hours. So I called the care center and told them that my husband had to have emergency surgery and so he obviously couldn't do that with two small children and I wouldn't be in. Brad went to the dentist and had the tooth pulled and they found that the infection had gone clear up his face and into his ear, Lovely! The dentist gave him anti-biotics and big time pain killers and he spent the rest of the day holding his face. So much fun!
That afternoon was Emma's swimming birthday party with her friends at the rec center, and they had so much fun, she had about 13 of her closest friends there and they all got to go down the big yellow water slide and around the lazy river with Trev (thanks trev for all your help in the water and to Mom, Jaclyn and JoDee for all your help too!) After swimming we came back to the house for cupcakes and ice cream and presents, all around it was a great party!

I had to work on Sunday at the care center in the morning, and of course we were short, so I didn't get out of there until almost 3. So by the time I got home I had enough time to straighten the house and stuff the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Emma had developed this yucky cough so I gave her some tylenol flu and she promptly went to her bed and fell asleep. I thought that was a little unusual, Emma just doesn't do that. When I went to get her up for her dinner for her birthday with her grandparents, she was VERY hot. I took her temp and it was 105! So I rushed her to the instacare and they said that she might have strep throat. They took a throat culture and sent it out. The doc told me that I should just try to control her symptoms and that they would call me in 1-2 days. We went back to her party, Emma was so worried that she was going to miss her cake. We covered the cake with plastic wrap and she blew out her candles and opened her presents from Grandma and Grandpa Hyde. She wasn't too exciteed about the whole party business, at least she might remember it for a long time. So this morning her temp is only 100, that isn't quite as scary as 105! She is only drinking water, but at least she won't get dehydrated.

So that was our fantastic weekend! ( you should have sensed the sarcasm from the beginning) Maybe next weekend will be better.

Oh ya - I forgot and make it all so much better we woke up to an inch of snow on the ground! What is up with that, it's like kickin a man when he's already down!

EASTER!! (It was so early this year)

Early in the Afternoon on Saturday Grandma and Grandpa Hyde came to visit and bring us our Easter Baskets from them and they helped us color our eggs. Grandpa Hyde is great at this! He could make cool colors and some really gross looking colors, it was lots of fun to have them help us.

We had a great Easter this year, even if it was only 50 degrees outside. The girls got to have their easter egg hunt at Grandma Spencers house and then we had KFC for dinner with Grandma (Jaclyn was snowboarding and Grandpa was in LA) and Grandpa and Grandma Sowell. They had a great time hunting for eggs and Grandma Spencer spoiled them with Easter Baskets as usual.

On Easter morning Maycee and Emma got their easter baskets from the easter bunny and thouroughly enjoyed eating their chocolate (which was gone in about two seconds flat) and they were so excited about their new sunglasses and other treats they got.

They both got to wear new Easter/Birthday dresses to church on Sunday too and they looked so cute. So girly!

Happy Birthday Maycee!!-March 7, 08

It was Maycee's birthday a few weeks ago and she turned 3! I can't believe my baby is three years old! I decided that a bunch of three year olds running around was just too much for me so Maycee didn't get a friend birthday party but we had her grandmas and grandpas and uncles over for dinner and she was the star!! She doesn't get that much attention all for her so she was a little embarrassed sitting there as we sang happy birthday to her!! It was darling.

I also had Maycee's Pictures taken and this time around was so much better than last year! Last year for those of you who don't know, Maycee wouldn't do anything but stand there for the photographer so her picture (which actually resembled her personality) was sort of like an army general. We decided that if you could doctor the picture and put her in army fatigues that she would be a great poster child for the armed forces. But this year we actually got a really great picture, she looks like such an angel (in real life that halo has horns!)

Happy Birthday Emma! Mar 24, 2008

So this has become quite the thing these days so I thought I might as well jump right on with everyone else, and it is a good way to let friends and fam know what is going on. So yesterday was Emma's fifth birthday, as a mother it is so freakin scary that I have a five year old. I have been so busy with school that I just haven't had time to sit and think about it. She will start kindergarten in the fall at Meadowbrook Elementary and that is so scary for me, but she can't wait! She is turning into such a beautiful young lady. I took her and Mayc to the doctor for their yearly well checks and immunizations and Emma is projected to be about 6 feet tall. She acts like such a model always posing for the camera, and she is pretty photogenic so I guess it's okay. I took her over to Target to have some pictures taken for her birthday and she was telling the photographer what poses she should do. It was kind of funny. I took the girls to the park, Emma got to choose which one and so she chose Island View Park in Centerville. We went to Carls Jr and got kids meals and then took them to the park and they played their little hearts out. It is so wonderful to have nice weather. Emma and Maycee are such outside people that warm weather is the best stuff at our house. Then we went out to dinner at Chilli's. It was scrumptous (especially since I didn't have to cook it).
